30 Years of Pride

Friday, November 13, 2015, 8:00pm. Amaturo Theatre at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. This concert will feature music from the past 30 years of Pride Wind Ensemble Performances. Guest performers, video presentations, and special lighting effects will leave you begging for more. This is one concert not to miss. Tickets are $30.

The South Florida Pride Wind Ensemble is proud to present "30 Years of Pride" on Friday, November 13 at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. This concert will celebrate the 30th Anniversay of the Pride Wind Ensemble as we perform some of our favorite selections from the past 30 years. We will be bringing back many of our guest performers from previous performances, so you won't want to miss this "pulling out all of the stops" concert.

Tickets will be available soon through Ticketmaster or the Broward Center for the Performing Arts website.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2016 Youth Pride Band of South Florida. Please check to ensure that you are available for ALL REHEARSALS prior to completing your application. Please note that the University of Miami Honor Band is held in February as well as some District Solo and Ensemble Festivals. Check with your band director! If you plan on playig in the Youth Pride Band, please do not schedule SAT or ACT testing on a rehearsal day. Failure to attend ALL REHEARSALS will result in your inability to perform at the concert. Space in the ensemble is limited, so please do not take a spot from another deserving student!

Rehearsal and performance dates are: January 31, February 7, February 14, February 19, February 20, February 21 (Performance).

South Florida Pride Steel Band Now Accepting New Members!

WHO: The South Florida Pride Steel Band is open to people who want to have fun making music, regardless of their musical experience or knowledge. Our musicians include experienced wind and percussion players who just started learning steel pans, as well as beginners without any musical experience.
WHAT: We play on a collection of high quality, custom-made steel pans that include single lead, double second, and triple cello pans. We also use electric bass, keyboard, drum set, and hand percussion instruments to set the groove.
WHERE: Saint Mark’s Episcopal School, 1750 E Oakland Park Blvd.
WHEN: Thursdays, 7:00 – 9:00 pm.

The Pride Wind Ensemble is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization that depends on donations from patrons to pay for many of our expenses including: Youth Pride Band scholarships, sheet music, facility rental, instrument purchase and performance venue costs.
